OCD is Obsessive Compulsive Disorder. For those who suffer from OCD or think they might, here is some useful information. I will add to it if people inform me of anything useful or if I find anything useful myself.
Doctor David Veale
Dr David Veale is one of the acknowledged leading experts in the UK, if not the world, on OCD. He regularly holds clinics in London and has his own website here:
http://www.veale.co.uk/
He has also written a self-help guide to OCD, which I have found very useful. It also has a chapter in it specifically for carers of people with OCD. The book is called Overcoming Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder and you can buy it on Amazon here:

Other resources
My therapist recommended a great book for me – The OCD Workbook: Your Guide to Breaking Free from Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder. There is a scheme in the USA and now in the UK to get copies of this from your library. It’s called Books on Prescription, so go to your library and find out about the scheme, if you need the book. I can recommend it.
OCD Handwashing Survey
I have now created a survey to ask people about hand washing. What I want is to get a feel for whether people without OCD wash their hands when they come home or not, and if they only do it sometimes, when?
If you don’t have OCD and would like to take a moment to help the OCD community, please complete the single question: it will only take you a few seconds and you won’t have to leave any personal details. Please only complete this if you do NOT have OCD.
