O Sol Brilhante Demais

Just a few updates for you both. Less than a week to go, but enjoy the upcoming pics on instagram. I had a lovely Indian curry during the first week – they usually use too much salt in Spain, or vinegar, but this was just right. Peshwari nan was delicious. Anyway, I found a great Moroccan restaurant while looking so I tried it the other night, delicious, but the cous cous was much more filling than I expected. Lovely fig cheesecake to finish. No pics, unfortunately. On the way home, I dropped in on an organ recital in the local church. I never heard a proper, full sized organ in a large church before, and it sounded great from where I sat. Bach, followed by Vivaldi (loved this best), Vierne and some other Italian, who almost sent me to sleep. I asked God to look after the souls of my step-parents, now they are gone. They are on my mind, because when I get back, we have to do the house clearance to sell it, so for the first week, I’m gonna be a bit distracted.
The Mogan visit was okay – good shopping if you like clothes, but few toys or sports gear, although I did find out in a giant Levi shop that they still sell 1993 black 501s, which was my style then, tho I wonder if I could get a pair to fit now. I will try the local cactus spirit before I go home. Watch for the IG post. The Germans own half this place. And they built some amazing apartment blocks: google Santa Monica suites hotel. Of course, they had secret submarine bases here during the war, and after, they did TV productions like the German-french production of Robinson Crusoe filmed on this very beach. Only a villsge then, but within 4 years, big hotels built, all financed indirectly by Germany. Christopher Columbus sailed from here to ‘discover’ America (actually, the Vikings beat him by 500 years, but let’s not quibble over facts!), and built a house when he returned. I visited his house, very grand. Although he’s criticised for not caring about S American natives, the whole cellar is stuffed with art from their culture.

Here’s an excerpt from the wip at the moment, The Art of Loneliness, a mix of autobiographical and treatise about Art, a trilogy:
