Moloi

Moloi are Romanian vampire spirits. These vampires can only life if it eats human hearts. It’s created when one of its parents kills an illegitimate child. A girl is called Moloica.

Necurat

The Necurat or Orgoi means “accursed or “dishonest” in Romania. Romanians call all of their vampire creatures this. It’s believed using this name instead of a specific name will keep from calling the vampire to them.

Another name for Vampires in Romania is Baboana for females and Babon for males.

Baba Coajo

A vampire forest spirit in Romania is a bloodthirsty monster.
She’s described as half bear and half woman. Baba Coajo pronounced Baba Co-ya means the Old Woman of the Tree Bark. She’s also called “Queen of the Forest” and has total control over the evil within the woods.

She is very dangerous evil entity. She catches children who wander into the forest alone, or those…

Spring Forward, Fall Apart (Audio Short)

Nice bit of poetry being read.

Abstract

When cabin fever strikes, we all get to reenact Pink Floyd’s The Wall, here’s something I wrote about it.

I wrote this poem just as the leaves started to turn, and slowly but surly it became a self fulfilling prophecy. The cold has gotten so harsh that my dog refuses to step on the sidewalk for fear that the ice will chill her paws.

The clouds overhead have become a fixture. The stars won’t be back until May. The monochrome landscape isn’t as inspiring as it was a few months ago. Anything worth describing has been buried beneath a layer of white out.

There’s a city to explore, but subzero temperatures have a way of narrowing my field of vision. My introversion has gone from a choice, to something that’s necessary for my survival. If I wander the streets too long, I’ll die…

Ship’s Log: Supplimental – MotoGP

I just have to say how happy I am that Valentino Rossi won the Assen MotoGp. It’s been a long time coming and I doubted myself that he could do it again. After what has happened to him in the last few years, I think there are very few men who could rise to the top again; it’s not far short of miraculous. Lorenzo’s finish with his injury was also not far short of a miracle. It was a great race. Rossi looks like a man who has had a great burden lifted from his shoulders, and I hope he can go on to more wins.

Friday 14 June Update: ‘Like a Virgin’

Blog Updated 16 June in Other News section

Update on Blog access issues
I am still working with the service who I pay to manage my DNS settings. They have omitted to delete an old record, which is giving conflicting data to the new record and thus causing issues, particularly for Mobile device users. Despite my repeated emails this still hasn’t been fixed, despite their reply that it would. I can only hope this is fixed very soon. Continue reading “Friday 14 June Update: ‘Like a Virgin’”

‘Avatar’ – A Walk in the Forest

A break in tradition this week. I will be talking about Obsessive Compulsive Disorder – OCD.

I found a new place to walk last weekend. On many weekends I like to take my car and drive out of London to somewhere peaceful. I grew up in deepest Buckinghamshire, and while it is an insular community, I do very much miss the stunning countryside. Chalk soil leads to a wonderful variety of woodland: beech, oak, sycamore, giant and very ancient cherry trees and hawthorn trees as high as a house. Yes, my favourite woodland is very ancient and will remain a secret for now.

However, I am not yet rich, so Bucks is too far to go regularly. Consequently I usually explore closer to North London. In the last ten years, in my little car, I have discovered villages with beautiful streams and lovely quiet woodland walks where the solitary can find solace. I have had two favourite spots during this time, but I was getting a little jaded. Continue reading “‘Avatar’ – A Walk in the Forest”
