I have just found out that Waterstones (one of the top 3 book shops in the UK) is accepting publications from independents. You have to first register with Neilsen BookData Online which I am doing now. On the site there are 2 registrations and here is the link to the site:

The second registration on the right is for PubWeb – a free service for publishers, which you also need to register for. Its quite an easy form to fill in and it does allow for people who are just publishing a few titles.

After that I guess you need to wait until u are in the pubweb database and then go back to waterstones here:
